Adil Hiani
Adil Hiani is a Moroccan artist known for bridging Western electronic music with traditional folk sounds from his homeland. He began his career as a DJ in Morocco at an early age, influenced by his cousin DJ Key, a figure in the country's hip hop scene. From 2003, Adil Hiani toured and developed his scratching and beat-juggling abilities, later exploring music production and electronic genres. He co-founded Cosmo Records in Casablanca in 2009, a label focused on cross-cultural collaborations between electronic artists and Moroccan musicians. After moving to Toulouse in 2011 to study, Adil Hiani performed across Europe, including an 11-hour set at Club Der Visionaere in Berlin in 2013. He later returned to Casablanca to concentrate on his music production and the development of Cosmo Records, which celebrated its fifth anniversary in 2015 with a project involving various artists and Moroccan musicians. His productions are characterized by rhythmic arrangements that fuse Eastern and Western cultures, drawing influences from diverse global sounds.
