Alton Miller

Alton Miller is a DJ, producer, singer, and percussionist who was born in Chicago and raised in Detroit. His musical upbringing included influences such as Stevie Wonder, Santana, Parliament Funkadelic, and the Philly Sound. He developed his DJing skills inspired by early house music pioneers like Larry Levan and Timmy Regisford, and frequented venues like Ron Hardy’s Music Box and Frankie Knuckles’ private loft parties with friends including Derrick May. In 1988, Alton Miller co-founded The Music Institute in Detroit with Chez Damier and George Baker. He has since lived in Paris and South Africa, continuing his musical work and representing the Detroit sound globally. Alton Miller has toured extensively, performing in countries such as Japan, Australia, South Africa, Europe, and New Zealand, and has recorded for independent labels including Defected, Planet E, King Street, Nitegrooves, Trackmode Records, Seasons, and Octave Lab. His mixing style is characterized by its eclectic nature, blending old and new sounds to create a unique atmosphere.
