Amir Alexander's musical background includes early experiences with the tuba, trombone, and bass guitar, eventually leading to the upright bass during his university studies where he focused on jazz. He later shifted his career path from music instruction to becoming a DJ and producer. Amir Alexander gained recognition organically, progressing from a raver to a DJ performing at open-air festivals and eventually achieving the distinction of being the third DJ to play the Sydney Opera House Auditorium. He has stated that music played a crucial role in his life, particularly as someone who grew up in poverty.
