Amount (DE)

Born in Bremen in 1980, Nayan Soukie's early musical interests spanned artists like Prince, Michael Jackson, and Art of Noise. He transitioned from classical guitar to computer music production at age 13, exploring genres such as hip-hop, easy listening, experimental sounds, and house music. In the early 2000s, Soukie began an ongoing collaboration with Fritz Windish, resulting in their first vinyl release in 2008 on Eminor. The duo, recognized for their techno, minimal, and house productions, later moved to Hamburg and then Berlin in 2011, where they co-founded the URSL label and shared a studio in the Renate club. Since 2018, Soukie has increasingly focused on his solo project, Amount, performing live sets that blend downtempo, minimal, and disco. His individual work has appeared on labels such as Little Helpers, Frank Music, and Running Back, in addition to releases on URSL, A Tribe Called Kotori, Darkroom Dubs, Laut und Luise, and Feines Tier.
